Episode 2: What Does it Mean to Take the Lift to Heaven?

Welcome back! Here you go...episode 2 of the Taking the Lift to Heaven podcast!

(Just a housekeeping note: I'll be aiming to release a new episode every other Tuesday. So be sure to check back and subscribe by e-mail to get new posts sent to your inbox!)

.
In this episode, I share with you the origin behind the name of this website and podcast!

We think that holiness is all about what we do...but it's not. It's about who we are. Holiness is about relying fully on God. Relying on the theology of St. Therese of Lisieux, we explore in this episode the universal call to holiness and how truly living out our vocation means allowing Jesus to be our elevator to heaven.

Episode 1: Welcome to the Taking the Lift to Heaven podcast!!

I am so, so excited to share this new resource with you!

Welcome to the podcast!

Whether you're coming to this site as someone working in ministry - a priest, seminarian, lay pastoral associate or catechist - or as a parent or friend of someone with special needs, or as someone with special needs yourself, you've come to the right place!

In this first episode, I set the stage for what is to come. The focus of this podcast is directed toward the universal call to holiness...an emphasis reflected in this first episode! I share with you how I came to get involved in adaptive ministry, and the story of the woman whose vocation first convicted me in this ministry.

Each week, I'll be sharing a relatively short podcast with you. Each episode will be about 15 minutes long. Whether you're a parent or a pastor or a pastoral associate...your time is precious and limited! I hope that this short podcast can inspire you and strengthen you in our ministry.

Please, please share this podcast! And please feel free to share feedback with me. Just click that contact tab up top. I'd love to hear from you. :-)

Without further ado...episode 1!

Welcome!

The purpose of this site is simple - to serve as a resource for those of you who are starting programs for those with special needs in your parishes or communities. Some of you may have read my book, Handbook for Adaptive Catechesis. Others of you may have heard me speak or participated in one of my workshops. However you found us - welcome!

The purpose of the site is also a grand one - to recognize the profound impact that all members of the Church can have in spreading the Gospel.

We are building something here - a space where we can encourage and strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ, and help them on their path to sainthood.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and explore the tabs at the top of the site. All pdf files are free for download and for use within your parish or school. Many blessings on your ministry!
